In her life Kimberly has had the opportunity to compete in three national pageants. After winning Miss Idaho Junior National Teenager in 1997, Miss Idaho Teen USA in 1999, and Miss Idaho USA in 2004 she was ecstatic to make the top 10 at the Miss USA Pageant. As Miss Idaho USA 2004 she was asked to travel the US and other countries as a representative for the Miss Universe Organization. That same year she also competed on NBC’s “Fear Factor” on the“All-female Episode”. Her love for being on stage and making a difference in her state through pageantry has continued and this past year Kimberly competed in the Mrs. Idaho America Pageant where she was honored to place in the top 5, and even more proud that her own sister, Christi van Ravenhorst, won the title. As Mrs. Eagle Hills 2017, Kimberly will once again take the stage this fall (October 27th- 29th) to compete for the title of Mrs. Idaho America 2017.
Kimberly was recently given a gift by God, the ability and desire to write children’s books. She has two different children’s books series, one about her spunky and vibrant boys called, The Liam and Leo Adventure Stories. The other, The Sunnyside Series, includes several faith-based books dedicated to looking on the bright side and finding the positive spin on life. Her first published book called A Skunk Named Perfume and is a cute story about a skunk that has been teased for his smell, but comes to realize that he has a purpose and what he thought was a flaw is actually a gift that he should be proud of.
