Heritage Bible Radio is a Ministry of Heritage Bible Church where Jim Harris is the teaching pastor. You can join Jim each weekday at 4 am, 8:30 am, and on Sunday at 7:15 am. Every day Jim works to devote his radio time to some portion of the Word of God so you can know God and serve him better.
If you recall, last week on Heritage Bible Radio, pastor Jim Harris taught us about the danger of worldliness in the life of a believer. This week we will continue with James 4:7-10. If it’s true that we are often blind to our own worldliness and that it can sneak up on us unnoticed and tangle us in confusion and conflict with those that we love the most, what can we do to combat that? Is there an attitude that we can adopt that will make us less susceptible? Is there some action that we can take to keep the devastating consequences of worldliness out of our lives? That’s what we will learn about this week, so tune in every day to hear the entire message. The title of last week’s message was called Worldliness, so this week’s message is fittingly titled The Cure to Worldliness.
Section Text (NIV)
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
