In 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a presidential proclamation designating the Sunday closest to January 22—the day the Supreme Court issued its infamous Roe v. Wade decision—as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. While, unfortunately, not every President since Reagan has followed the practice of such proclamation, Christians continue to recognize the date as a significant reminder that by all means, we must continue to celebrate the sanctity of life.
